Senior Fitness Classes
Do you have a hard time getting motivated to exercise on your own? Would you like to exercise with a small group of people your own age? Then we are the fitness class for you!
Our classes are a mixture of a gentle cardio workout combined with Yoga and Tai Chi exercises. Lead by a certified Yoga instructor, these calming movements help reduce stress, maintain flexibility, improve balance and promote healthy joints. There is also social time for enjoying nutritious snacks and lunches.
All classes are held at Concordia on Whipple on Wednesdays and Fridays. Come early for snacks and stay later for lunch. All classes and lunches are at no cost; donations are greatly appreciated.
Classes: Held year-round on Wednesdays and Fridays 11:30am - 12:45pm
Senior Lift Program
Are you an older adult that could use a little support and assistance in your daily life?
Concordia Place’s Senior Lift Program helps seniors maintain independent lives by providing free transportation assistance for adults, 65 years and older, living on the north side of Chicago. Our goal is to provide the human connection needed to enhance a senior’s quality of life, also to help reduce loneliness and provide information on available senior support services.
Concordia’s Senior Wellness Coordinator conducts an initial phone interview to identify individual needs. Our trained and caring volunteers provide support with errands such as transportation for grocery shopping, short medical appointments, errands and social outings.
annual rides are given to Senior Lift participants
