Concordia Place offers support for Chicago's newest neighbors.
In August 2023, Concordia Place began enrolling Chicago’s newest neighbors in our Home Visiting, Early Childhood Education & Care, and School-Age 365 programs. In collaboration with two local shelters, we have successfully enrolled over 150 families to date. Upon enrollment, our team conducts a comprehensive family needs assessment to ensure we fully understand and address the unique challenges each family faces, enabling us to provide tailored, effective support. To further assist, the Concordia team developed a comprehensive Resource Guide, connecting families with essential services and resources.
Recognizing the significant and growing needs of these new neighbors, Concordia Ministries took proactive steps by establishing a New Neighbors Ministry. This initiative is designed to ensure that our new neighbors are not only supported but feel welcomed in the communities we serve. The task force has been instrumental in organizing welcome events for these families, while also launching a collection of critical personal and hygiene items, which we distribute to help meet the immediate needs of these families. This collective effort reflects our unwavering commitment to supporting and uplifting new neighbor families as they navigate their new lives in our city.
As a learning organization, Concordia Place is committed to continued improvement. We have learned that distinguishing between the Concordia Place and Concordia Day brands was not necessary.
Starting May 1, all visitors to concordiaday.org will be redirected to day.concordiaplace.org
By unifying around the sole use of the Concordia Place brand, we will provide clarity and focus on our mission to serve families and provide both care and education for their children.
