Home and School Connection

Concordia teachers work closely with parents to ensure a solid and healthy home to school connection. Working together, especially when children need to make great developmental strides, ensures a smoother transition during these times of rapid growth.

Our directors and teachers evaluate each child’s progress to recognize individual academic and social needs.

Toddlers and Twos Schedule

Our dynamic curriculum gives teachers the flexibility to structure age-appropriate activities and experiences that incorporate the interests and needs of both the classroom and individual child.

To develop weekly lesson plans, teachers use observations and assessments of children’s progress against milestones to respond to individual needs and plan classroom experiences accordingly.

This promotes an optimal environment for your child’s whole development.  A planned, yet flexible, curriculum and schedule encourages children to develop cognitively, socially, emotionally, and physically.

Why early learning?

Babies are born learning. Very young children are learning through play, the active exploration of their environment, and, most importantly, through interactions with the significant adults in their lives.

“Children learn as they play. Most importantly, in play children learn how to learn.”

O. Fred Donaldson, Ph.D and Author

Recent research confirms that the first five years are particularly important for the development of the child’s brain, and the first three years are the most critical in shaping the child’s brain architecture. Early experiences provide the base for the brain’s organizational development and functioning throughout life. They have a direct impact on how children develop learning skills as well as social and emotional abilities.

Our two toddlers attend Concordia and we couldn't be happier. Even before they started attending, one of their teachers came to our home with the Family Support Specialist to get to know all of us. To our knowledge, most other daycare centers don't go the extra mile in that way.
