As a freshman, I had never even assumed I would go into business. I had always assumed I would work in technology or even architecture. However, after experiencing the operations of a small business, I concluded I would love to spend a lot of my life dedicating myself to making new connections and helping build a service or product from the ground up. Concordia has strongly shaped my post high school plans. I am grateful that I was able to participate and learn from Ruckus Entrepreneurs as it helped prepare me for my next stage in life through the skills taught by our amazing staff members.
I will be attending the University of Illinois at Chicago in order to pursue a marketing degree. I love going to the gym and playing the bass guitar. I plan to work in marketing and restore cars when I am older. Currently, I am looking for a marketing internship. I plan to learn the in’s and out’s of creating a business as I have a couple ideas for potential businesses in the future.
I will miss the staff members from Concordia the most as they have always provided a safe and uplifting environment for me to perform in. I used to be a lot more quiet and shy growing up, but after going to numerous selling events and speaking with customers on the phone directly, I learned how to improve my communication skills and become a lot more mature as a person. They have provided endless opportunities to better myself and the other teens in the program. It was such a pleasure to be able to work alongside them.
As a learning organization, Concordia Place is committed to continued improvement. We have learned that distinguishing between the Concordia Place and Concordia Day brands was not necessary.
Starting May 1, all visitors to concordiaday.org will be redirected to day.concordiaplace.org
By unifying around the sole use of the Concordia Place brand, we will provide clarity and focus on our mission to serve families and provide both care and education for their children.
